About this destination

Named in honor of the pioneering advocate for mental health, Dorothea Lynde Dix, is a testament to the fusion of natural beauty, community engagement, and historical significance. Spanning an impressive area, this park is not just a green space, but a vibrant hub of activity, relaxation, and historical remembrance. It's FREE so why not? Is it the most spectacular history museum? Absolutely not, but it presents an awesome history, military, and more, of North Carolina. Some areas were not open, yet we still managed to spend a chunk of time here seeing everything but the children's interactive section (we were all 18 and over). Again, it's a great, FREE opportunity so go and check it out!
