Introduction

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, located in Raleigh, is one of the Southeast's premier destinations for those interested in the natural world. As the largest natural history museum in the region and one of the most-visited attractions in North Carolina, it offers an extensive array of exhibits, research facilities, and educational programs. The museum's mission is to illuminate the natural world and inspire its conservation, making it a vital resource for understanding and appreciating our planet's biodiversity.

I could not recommend this more. It’s enormous - far bigger than it looks from the outside- with exhibit after exhibit that our kids loved. There was a ton of interactive stuff for kids and all the exhibits were interesting and very well done. We had a great time and couldn’t believe it was funded only by donations

Moreover, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences plays a pivotal role in scientific research and environmental stewardship. It conducts important research in areas like biodiversity, genomics, and paleontology, contributing to the global scientific community. For visitors, from budding young scientists to seasoned researchers, the museum offers a rich and inspiring experience, showcasing the wonders of the natural world and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
