About this destination

This is a lovely look at the RJ Reynolds family life by touring the gardens and house. Mrs Reynolds helped design the home and unfortunately RJ died just a year after they moved in. It had lots of features for entertaining the children. Most impressively it has a 3 story pipe organ in the living room. The gardens are pretty and edible. We had lunch at the Tavern in the Village and it was quite good and had shady outdoor seating on various patios. It would be nice to have a docent give a tour. They have an 8 person minimum for a tour. There weren't as many paintings as I thought there would be.
